Silent Sales Privacy Notice

Simon Lunt at Silent Sales processes personal data as a data controller and complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Scope of this notice

This notice applies to personal data that relates to living individuals and does not cover information about companies that is outside of the scope of the GDPR and DPA. It does not apply to data we collect on your behalf as a client of Silent Sales.

How and why we process your personal data

As a data controller Silent Sales collects and uses the following information about you -

name, address, phone number and email address. Where you are a customer of Silent Sales information about any payments due and received will also be collected.

Silent Sales collects your personal data for the following purposes:

1. Collecting your contact details to generate marketing leads and to market it’s own business to business products.

2. For the administration of Silent Sales business including invoicing, tax and accounting, and debt recovery.

3. For the organisation and delivery of training to individuals and for a limited period afterwards as a record of that activity.

4. Disclosures legally required by law enforcement bodies and in connection with legal proceedings.

We obtain most of your information from you directly when we discuss the services that Silent Sales can provide you and prior to that we also obtain name and contact details from public sources such as the internet, social media platforms, phone book and business directories to identify you as possible clients of Silent Sales.

In some circumstances we also obtain names of employees of our clients for the purpose of providing and arranging training to you and to hold a record of that service and attendance.

Where you use our website we will also collect information relating to you in line with our Cookies Policy.

We share your information with our contracted service providers, such as IT service providers, and also with professional advisers as required such as solicitors and accountants. Where required by law, and on receipt of a valid request, we will also share information with law enforcement agencies and government bodies.

Where we obtain your details to market our business to business products and services to you we do this on the legal basis that it is in our legitimate interests and does not prejudice your rights and freedoms.

Where we obtain and use your information as part of providing a service to you or your employer we do that on the legal basis that it is necessary for entering into and the performance of a contract with you or in other cases where it is in our legitimate interests and does not prejudice your rights and freedoms.

Your information is stored securely in the UK and/or EU by our accredited IT service providers and protected by technical, logical and organisational security measures.

Your data will be processed for as long as you are a valid prospect of Silent Sales and in cases where you are a customer it will be held for 7 years from the date of the service we have provided to you for tax and accounting purposes. Where you have received training from Silent Sales we will keep a record that you have received that training for 3 years from the date of that training.

Your rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you

think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us about yourself to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
